I loved reading about your growth as a child artist! I also loved drawing as a kid. Always had a pencil and paper. I won a poster contest about smoke alarms or something random! But it was a blue ribbon and I was thrilled. In middle school, we had to create a poster about Unity and Kindness (you know the kind) and they put my design on the wall as this huge mural. It made me so self-conscious to see my work BIG and available for either praise or mockery. I wasn’t brave enough to major in art in college. I thought I couldn’t compete with others who had, well, Real Talent. You are right that creating art is intimidating.
Such a great post!! I love hearing about your illustrating journey! Congrats on all you've accomplished with subscribers, poetry, and art. You're inspiring!
I’ve enjoyed sketching again. Never thought to do this before but started doing that in my journal. So far it’s been sketches of my kids doing things. It’s been a fun way to create memories of the ordinary things they do.
Congrats on hitting 400!!! :)

Thank you! Michelle, you are clearly using some of those talents in what you do now. I'm not surprised at all that you won that poster contest!

Thanks, Marci! I hope I can inspire other people to explore their creativity in new ways!
Congrats!! Drawing is truly a gift.
Please don’t include me in the “drawing” (hehe) as we are moving and in clean out mode. Congrats to the future winner!
Thank you! Good luck with the move!
Love this! I am feeling inspired as I undertake my first 100 Day Project!
Woo hoo!
I really, really want a stuffed animal version of Bear. And Toad.
Maybe I will crochet them one of these days.
Ooh!
