Love the illustration of the fox and snowman. AND - I grew up in Nebraska! I now live in New Hampshire, having traded on cold winter for another I agree with your advice. Embrace the winter, bundle up and get outside!
Thank you, Rebecca! Your post reminded me of three of my favorite winter books. The Snow Queen, by Hans Christian Andersen, At the Back of the North Wind, by George MacDonald, and Wild Animals I Have Known, by Ernest Thompson Seton. I have illustrated editions of all three and I’ve read them over and over. The last book might not be suitable for younger children (spoiler: animals die), but they’re all great books by wonderful storytellers.
Love your illustration and am looking forward to seeing it painted. I grew up in Colorado and really loved the snow. It is so beautiful! But as an adult I'm happy to be in Texas and only have a little snow a couple of times a year.
I love your linocut!
Thank you!
Love this post and all your tips. Just what I need as I start out at a winter wonderland outside.
I wish I was staring at a winter wonderland!
I know I'm a weirdo, but I love winter. And I can't wait to see the finished product of this intriguing snowman book!
I love winter too. It’s the coziest season of the year! And it (usually) brings the most magical weather.
Agreed!
Ugh. What I wouldn't give for some snow. This dry winter business is the worst.
Your linocuts are fabulous. Love seeing your process.
Thank you, Alison. I’m still holding out hope for some snowy days this winter!
Great advice. I miss the snow but we will be returning to the East this year. 🥰🙏

Thank you, Amy! Now if it would only snow more than the five minute dusting we got today!
I appreciate this as I head out into the 10 degree weather tomorrow morning! ❄️ Stay cozy, friend!
You too!

Oh, I’ve been wanting to read more George McDonald. Thanks for bringing these three to my attention!
So many great things to read and so little time! Peace be with you, sister.
