I was so excited about this Inktober because (as you, too, discovered) the prompts all seemed to come together as a story, and plus they seemed thematically connected to the work I do with the-pilgrimage.org. But then I didn't have a lot of time to doodle and a lot of the prompts ended up feeling kind of same-y and I started running out of pages in my current sketchbook, so I kind of pooped out. Maybe at some point I'll make a post of the ones I did, though. Thanks for the download!
I know what you mean about some of them feeling “samey.” When I got to “horizon” I had already done a horizon for “sun” so I ended up trying a different style. Also “guidebook” and “journal” are pretty similar. I’m so glad my daughter gave me the moon idea because it ended up reenergizing me for the project!
This has been so fun to watch as the month progressed. Thanks for giving the final overview! I think I like your navigator particularly, but it’s hard to choose.
Thank you, Loren! The navigator was one of the more challenging ones because of trying to carve a whole human figure in such a small space. I’m pleased with how it turned out!
My favorite has to be that first glimpse of the rhino on the moon, what a hoot and a great story twist! I'm wondering if the symbol you refer to in the last stamp is the hiker taking off his hat, as in "hats off to you for creating such a fun, narrative journey" and "hats off to you with sticking to the challenge!" That's what I say to you :-)
Thank you! That’s my favorite too. A close second is the camera. I’m glad you caught the detail of hat! In my mind he’s taking his hat off because he’s home. 😊 So, hats off to a great journey!
Oh my gosh now I can frame it too!!
Where will you hang it?
By the back door!
Just wanted to update you that my niece is loving Mari in the Margins! 🥰
Aw, I’m so glad! Thank you for the update!
I just have to say that this is amazing
Thank you so much!

Oh, and you should definitely make a post of the ones you did!

The rhino on the moon (both of them) are my favorites!
Thanks. They *are* pretty cool.

This is delightful! I want to read the accompanying children’s book. Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you so much! Maybe I’ll put together tiny children’s book!
Love all the details in there.
Thank you!
I was not even kidding a little bit about the moon. I would have been a tiny bit offended if you hadn’t done it. Haha
These look incredible as a series! Wow. I love navigator.
Thank you! I forced myself to go really small with that one. It’s about 1 3/8 inches wide!
